INTRODUCTION

Save the Children has been working in Rwanda since 1994 in partnership with the Government of Rwanda (GoR) and local stakeholders to promote a bright future for children. We have experience working in all 30 districts across the country. The main areas of focus are education, child protection, child rights governance, and health and nutrition in humanitarian and development contexts.

Save the Children (SC) is the world’s largest independent child rights organization, underpinned by a vision of a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development, and participation. Our mission to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. Save the Children implements both development and humanitarian assistance programs in Rwanda and Burundi.

Call for Application: Opportunity for Health Entrepreneurs

Are you a passionate health entrepreneur who wants to make healthcare better? Do you want to run a healthcare facility and improve maternal and child health? If yes, consider applying for this opportunity to become a Health Entrepreneur and manage an affordable private clinic in Rwanda. Kumwe Hub and Save the Children are committed to help nurse-preneurs set up low-cost private clinics that address the healthcare needs children and their families in Rwanda.

About the Project:

Kumwe Hub, together with Save the Children, is launching an innovative initiative in Rwanda. Our mission is to create affordable private health clinics in semi-urban and rural areas. By using a franchise model, we want to provide accessible and affordable healthcare services while also easing the burden on public health services and supporting the government’s Universal Health Coverage goals.

We are looking for passionate individuals to create impactful healthcare businesses that meet community needs.

Your Role:

We are looking for a Health Entrepreneur to manage our low-cost health clinic in the community. You will oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality care, manage staff, maintain financial stability, and create a positive experience for patients and stakeholders. Join us in making a difference!

Eligibility Criteria and required skills:

Nurse with a recognized nursing degree or diploma.

 A valid license as a registered nurse

  • A passionate individual with an entrepreneurial mindset focused on healthcare business opportunities.
  • Experience managing health clinics.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and identify opportunities in healthcare and adapt to market changes.
  • Strong management skills, including team leadership, administrative tasks, inventory management, and staff supervision.
  • Knowledgeable in primary healthcare, with a good understanding of Rwanda’s standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Committed to serving underserved communities and improving access to quality child and maternal healthcare services.
  • Basic financial skills and a strong commitment to ethical medical practices and patient confidentiality.
  • Possesses a long-term vision for developing and implementing strategic plans for clinic growth and sustainability while addressing community healthcare needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid license as a registered nurse from the National Council of Nurses and Midwives (NCNM)
  • University degree in public health, social science, or business management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Public Health from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Entrepreneurship skills and prior business experience.
  • Preferred: Existing business registered in the healthcare sector.
